The Wildlife Research Institute and the North American Bear Center need your help!

The non-profit North American Bear Center’s (NABC) mission is to advance the long-term survival of bears worldwide by replacing misconceptions with scientific facts about bears, their role in ecosystems, and their relations with humans.

The NABC works closely with the non-profit Wildlife Research Institute (WRI) to create and update exhibits for the Bear Center. WRI’s world-renowned trust-based research methods allow close observation of wild black bears as they go about their lives. WRI’s video footage—which documents wild black bear behavior and food choices—helps keep the Bear Center exhibits fresh. Bear Center staff provides a wide variety of foods to the Ambassador black bears Ted, Honey, Lucky, and Holly. Nuts are an important part of their diet. Send the bears some of their favorite nuts! When you donate nuts, the dollar amount will be put on our account. This gives us the flexibility to purchase bear food that we need and when we need it. It helps us manage the highest quality foods and eliminates storing excess food.

Plus, when you donate nuts, you will also be helping the Wildlife Research Institute (WRI). The NABC and the WRI coordinate their needs from your donations at nuts.com. The WRI also uses nuts as part of their ongoing research with habituated black bears. Quality nuts are essential to the success of this trust-based research.
